CPEG Awards Overview

Recognition of CPEG's success has come in several forms and from multiple sources; however, our most important recognition continues to be outstanding client satisfaction.

business_times_photoCPEG President, Peggy Carpenter, was selected as a winner of the 2010 Women in Business Awards by the Pittsburgh Business Times.  The second-annual Women in Business Awards program celebrates 25 outstanding women who have made extraordinary contributions to the Pittsburgh region – our Top 25 Women Leaders in Business.  The Women in Business Awards are presented based on accomplishments and careers at both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. While a nominee's non-work activities (community or philanthropy) are considered, the primary thrust of this program is how the nominee has been a driving force in her workplace.  The Pittsburgh Business Times and its sponsors honored the selected 25 of the region's most outstanding women for their business accomplishments on March 15, 2010 at the Westin Convention Center Hotel.  A special supplement honoring the winners of the 2010 Business Women First Women in Business Awards was distributed in the March 12, 2010 issue of the Pittsburgh Business Times.  A link to Peggy’s feature article is found here:

CPEG was again named to Pennsylvania’s Top Business List by DiversityBusiness.com. This is the 12th year for the List -- a classification that represents the top small businesses in the U.S., in sectors such as technology, manufacturing, food service and professional services. We were honored to have been selected as one of Pennsylvania’s Top 100 diversity-owned businesses for the sixth year in a row and as one of the Top 500 Emerging Small Businesses in the U.S.

CPEG President, Peggy Carpenter was featured in the July 2009 edition of the Pittsburgh Magazine in the Spotlight on Women in Business – a full page in the magazine!            Click Here to read the article.

CPEG was again honored in 2011 being selected for the Best of Business Award in the Environmental Services category by the Small Business Commerce Association (SBCA).   This is the third consecutive year that CPEG has received this award.  The SBCA Award Program recognizes the top 5% of small businesses throughout the country. The selection committee chooses the award winners from nominees based on information taken from monthly surveys administered by the SBCA, a review of consumer rankings, and other consumer reports.

CPEG was selected to receive the 2008 Woman womanBusofYearBusiness of the Year Award at the 23rd annual Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week celebration held in October 2008 at the Duquesne University Power Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  The Pittsburgh MED Week Awards Gala is held to honor the outstanding minority entrepreneurs and business advocates for their significant contributions and achievements.  National MED Week is an annual celebration in recognition of the contributions made by minority businesses to the Nation’s economy. The Pittsburgh celebration is sponsored by the SBA, the Diversity Business Resource Center and the Pittsburgh Minority Business Opportunity Committee.

athena_powerlink_award_photoCPEG owners were proud to have been selected to participate in  the ATHENAPowerLink® program in 2008, graduating in 2009.  Recognition and presentation of the award was made by Andrew Stockey of WTAE-TV at the 2009 Westmoreland County Winners Circle luncheon.  ATHENAPowerLink® provides professional advisory panels to women-owned businesses to assist in business growth.  Each advisory panel is tailored to the specific needs of the company as defined by the business plan, goals and objectives of the enterprise. The panel's goal is to ultimately help women-owned businesses learn how to network better, access capital and implement best practices. In southwestern Pennsylvania, the program is offered to women-owned businesses in Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties by E-Magnify through the National ATHENA Foundation.
